In order to achieve a better understanding of how to apply eco-design principles to digital services for more sustainable networks and information and communications technologies (ICTs), BEREC will host an external workshop in Brussels, Belgium on 30 April 2025. The event will be held at the IRG Secretariat, located on Rue de la Science 14a, and will start at 10:00 CEST.

Sustainable design of digital services

During the workshop, participants will explore existing tools, frameworks and best practices which support the sustainable design of digital services. The event will bring together representatives from public authorities and organisations involved in the eco-design of digital services , including regulators, agencies, market players and environmental specialists in order to build a comprehensive overview of existing initiatives and gather stakeholder perspectives on sustainable digital services.

After the workshop, the BEREC Sustainability Working Group will compile a summary report outlining initiatives and recommendations for integrating eco-design principles into digital services. The recording of the event will be published on the official BEREC YouTube channel and will also be available on the Multimedia page of the BEREC website. According to the BEREC Work Programme 2025, the report is scheduled for adoption in October.
