Case Studies on IP-based Interconnection for Voice Services in the European Union

BEREC’s 2015 Work Program includes within strategic priority 1 “Promoting competition and investment” (3.1) the subject ”Preparing migration to ‘all IP networks’” (3.1.4). In line with the PRD on “Preparing migration to ’all IP networks’” a key issue related to the migration to NGN or all-IP networks is that also the interconnection for voice services is migrated from legacy technology (TDM) to IP.
The report “Case Studies on IP-based Interconnection for Voice Services in the European Union” submitted here is the response to the development that an increasing number of operators (fixed and mobile) in EU Member States migrate their networks to Next Generation Networks or all-IP networks.
