In view of the approaching end of the term of office of the Director of the Agency for Support for BEREC (BEREC Office) on 31 March 2024, on 28 June 2023 the BEREC Office Management Board published a Vacancy for the function of Director (Temporary Agent - Grade AD 14). In line with the provisions of Annex 5 of the Rules of Procedure of the Management Board of the BEREC Office the latter with Decision No MB/2023/03 set up the Selection Panel for this specific selection procedure. The Selection Panel carried out a first round of interviews with the candidates most fit for the post and on 6 November 2023 provided the Management Board with a short-list of the three most suitable candidates.
The Management Board approved the proposed list of the most suitable candidates and conducted interviews with them during its 57th ordinary plenary meeting held on 8 December 2023 in Warsaw. Upon completion of these interviews, the Management Board selected Ms Verena Christina Weber for the post of the Director. In accordance with Article 32 (2) of the Regulation (EU) 2018/1971 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018, establishing the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the BEREC Office, the Management Board should appoint the selected candidate as Director of the BEREC Office with an initial term of office of five years.
Therefore, on 21 05 2024, the Agency’s Management Board appointed Ms Verena Christina Weber to the post of Director of the BEREC Office as of 1 July 2024, for a period of five years.
