Public consultation on draft BEREC Guidelines on very high capacity networks

04 May 2020

During its 42nd plenary meeting (5-6 March 2020, Belgrade) the Board of Regulators approved the draft BEREC Guidelines on very high capacity networks for public consultation.

By 21 December 2020 BEREC shall issue the above-mentioned Guidelines on the criteria that a network is to fulfil in order to be considered a very high capacity network, in particular in terms of down- and uplink bandwidth, resilience, error-related parameters, and latency and its variation, according to Article 82 of the European Electronic Communications Code. NRAs shall take these Guidelines into utmost account. The Guidelines shall contribute to the harmonisation of the definition of the term ‘very high capacity network’ in the EU.

All stakeholders are invited to submit their inputs on the draft Guidelines to [email protected]
Please note, that the initial deadline (24.04.2020) was prolonged until 30 April 2020 17:00 (CET).

Contributions should preferably be submitted in English and include reference to relevant paragraphs or sections of the Guidelines in order to facilitate their processing.

In accordance with the BEREC policy on public consultations, BEREC will publish a summary of all contributions received. All contributions will be published on the BEREC website, taking into account requests for confidentiality. Any such requests should clearly indicate which information is considered confidential. It is also possible to send both a confidential and a public version.
