Notice for the launch of the first public consultation on the review of the BEREC Medium-Term Strategy for 2018-2020

BEREC is set to review its current Medium-Term Strategy (MTS) to make sure that its work stays relevant in relation to major developments in the digital ecosystem. The BEREC MTS has the function of guiding BEREC’s work in the medium term and serves as the blue print for BEREC´s annual work programmes.

BEREC has today published for consultation on broad and open questions concerning the review of the draft BEREC Medium-Term Strategy for 2018-2020.
In the first section of this consultation BEREC seeks open inputs on which market and technological developments could influence the new strategy, while also seeking answers to questions on more specific areas, such as the end-user experience, competitive dynamics in digital markets and the evolution of networks. In the second section BEREC is seeking answers to questions related to BEREC’s work with its current objectives and how stakeholder engagement could be improved. The purpose of the public consultation is to increase transparency and to provide BEREC with valuable feedback from stakeholders.

In accordance with the BEREC policy on public consultations, BEREC will publish a summary of all received contributions, respecting confidentiality requests.
The public consultation will run from 8 March 12:00 CET to 5 April 12:00 midday CET 2017.
All stakeholders are invited to submit their contributions via the new BEREC online public consultation tool, Discuto (https://www.discuto.io/en/berec), by 5 April 12:00 midday CET 2017. When registering with the consultation tool, please indicate your name and/or the name of the organisation or company you represent. In case the above submission method is not possible, contributions can also be submitted to the following e-mail address: [email protected]
Further enquiries about the consultation including registration problems with the online platform may also be submitted to this address. E-mail attachments should be included only if considered absolutely necessary. The overall size of the e-mail (including attachments) should not be larger than 2 MB. After submitting the contribution via e-mail, an automatic reply will be generated. If this confirmation e-mail is not received, the submission of the contribution was not successful and it should be submitted again.We strongly encourage all stakeholders to submit their contributions as early as possible.

Contributions received after the above mentioned deadline will not be taken into account.Contributions should preferably be sent in English. This public consultation is organised by the Discuto online tool in a way that allows participants to submit their comments to a number of questions. However, in case you send your comments by e-mail, your answers should be organised according to the requested structure (i.e. question by question) in order to facilitate processing the responses. All contributions will be published on the BEREC website, taking into account requests for confidentiality and publication of personal data. Any such requests should be clearly indicated: on the online tool by using the “hide comment” button or, if submitted via e-mail, by clearly stating which information is considered confidential. Please note that it is also possible to submit both a confidential and a public version of your contribution.
