BEREC internal workshop “Telecom regulators role in the development and implementation of sustainability indicators in the ICT sector”

The BEREC internal workshop “Telecom regulators' role in the development and implementation of sustainability indicators in the ICT sector” will take place on Wednesday, 11 September 2024, from 14:00 to 18:00 CEST, prior to the CN3 meeting in Belgrade, Serbia. It will be organised in a hybrid mode, physically at the at the Metropol Palace Hotel Belgrade and online.

The workshop will have three basic parts:

  1. Introduction including a keynote, a presentation of BEREC's existing work, and a presentation (TBC) of the European Commission’s DG Connect work on the topic (including the recent study on ECN/ECS sustainability indicators, future plans of the Code of Conduct for telecom players, etc).
  2. Presentations from the National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) that are already collecting environmental data on telecom and digital players. We kindly ask NRAs who wish to present their work to send an e-mail to the Co-Chairs of the BEREC Sustainability Working Group (SUS WG).
  3. Strategic debate on CN level. Participating representatives may rely on their SUS WG experts for preparation of the debate to have the necessary relevant information and opinions of the NRA.
