Project Requirements Document on post-mergers & acquisitions market developments fact finding study

This project aims at collecting and aggregating information about mergers and acquisitions in the telecommunication markets over the last years, specifically regarding how these mergers and acquisitions have been assessed by national and European regulatory authorities and the conditions set to clear these concentration operations.

Based on this information, the project will provide data showing how mergers and acquisitions have impacted the market structure at both national level and European level, how these operations have been assessed by competition authorities and which remedies have been imposed by Competition Authorities or have been agreed on by the merging parties.

The project will be carried out by BEREC Office, with the use of additional external resources and under the monitoring of the MEA EWG that will provide guidance and will review partial and final results. The project will start in the second half of 2015 with an aim to have a report prepared along 2016. Terms of Reference for the work to be done by external resources will be discussed in the MEA EWG with an aim to start working in the report before 2016.
