PRD for BEREC input to the wholesale roaming market review

According to Article 19 of the proposed Roaming IV Regulation, the Commission shall review the wholesale roaming market with a view to assessing measures necessary to enable the abolition of retail roaming surcharges by 15 June 2017. To that end, after the preceding public consultation, the Commission shall submit a report to the European Parliament and the Council on the findings by 15 June 2016, accompanied by an appropriate legislative proposal. In the letter sent by the Commission on 28 July 2015, BEREC has been asked to provide information on different aspects considered as relevant for the elaboration of the aforementioned report by the end of 2015. This work stream, which is planned to be finished by the end of 2015, includes the task of collecting data from NRAs and operators on behalf of the Commission, which will serve as an input for the cost model that they are developing, in order to give a timely response to the EC’s request.
