On 27 June 2014 the European Council endorsed the General Affairs Council Conclusions of 24 June 2014 in which the Ministers from the EU Member States agreed, based on the recommendation by the European Commission (see report), to grant EU candidate status to Albania.

On 3 July 2014 the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority of Albania (AKEP) filed a request (registered under No BoR (14) 98 and attached for your information) to obtain observer status at BEREC.

In that respect the BEREC Chair proposes to the BoR and the MC to consider positively the request by AKEP to become observer at BEREC and the BEREC Office MC.
