Letter from the BEREC Chair to the European Commission for submitting the BEREC High-level Statement on the Inerim Report on 'Investigation into interoperability standards for the promotion of the internal market for electronic communications' contracted

The Commission contracted a Study on 'Investigation into interoperability standards for the promotion of the internal market for electronic communications'. According to the ToR/Technical Specifications the study should investigate the conditions required for the development of harmonised interoperability solutions for the seamless exploitation of wholesale access products across the EU with a view to achieving a single market for telecommunications.  Among others the contractor is requested to undertake consultations on the topic with the NRAs and BEREC and to take into account the outcome of this consultation in its final report.

Therefore, on the basis of an interim report provided to BEREC the Board of Regulators during its 23^rd plenary meeting (4-5 June 2015, Bergen) approved a BEREC High Level Statement, which was sent to theCommission and to the consultant and which contains BEREC’s views on the interim report.

With the current letter the BEREC Chair submitted the BEREC High Level Statement to the European Commission.
