Letter from the BEREC Chair to the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority of Albania (AKEP) for granting observer status of AKEP to BEREC and the BEREC Office

On 27 June 2014 the European Council endorsed the General Affairs Council Conclusions of 24 June 2014 in which the Ministers from the EU Member States agreed – based on the recommendation by the European Commission (see report) to grant EU candidate status to Albania.

Following that the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority of Albania (AKEP) submitted a request to obtain observer status at BEREC in compliance with Article 1(4) of the Rules of Procedure of the Board of Regulators.

During its 20^th plenary meeting BEREC voted to grant observer status to the Albanian national regulatory authority, the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority of Albania (AKEP) and authorised the BEREC Chair to notify AKEP about BEREC’s decisions.

With the current letter the BEREC Chair informs AKEP that they have been granted observer status at BEREC.
