María Ruiz Merida

María Ruiz Merida is a lawyer with over 15 years of experience in regulatory matters. She is currently responsible for International Affairs in the telecommunications sector at the the National Markets and Competition Authority (CNMC), Spain. She joined the regulator in 2010 as an expert in legal and regulatory matters. 

She has been a Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) Contact Network member since 2011 and has actively participated in several BEREC Working Groups such as Market and Economic Analysis, Regulatory Framework, End-Users or Remedies. She coordinates CNMC activities in other international sectoral telecommunications for a, such as the Latin American Forum of Telecommunications Regulatory Entities, the European Mediterranean Regulators Group, the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network or the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
