The Management Committee according to Article 50 (1) of the BEREC Office Financial Regulation has the obligation to appoint an Accounting Officer, covered by the Staff Regulations, who shall be totally independent in the performance of his or her duties. Therefore, with Decision MC/2012/13 on 7 December 2012, the Management Committee appointed the Head of Administration and Finance at the BEREC Office as the BEREC Office Accounting Officer. The Head of Administration and Finance resigns from that post as of 15 October 2015 and therefore the Management Committee should terminate her appointment as Accounting Officer, as she does not fulfil the requirements of Article 50 (1) of Decision MC/2015/1 anymore. Before the appointment of a new Accounting Officer the Management Committee should appoint an interim Accounting Officer to fulfil the duties of the Accounting Officer as defined in the BEREC Office Financial Regulation on a temporary basis.
