Decision of the Management Board of the Agency for Support for BEREC on middle management staff

On 8 July 2016 the European Commission (EC) informed the BEREC Office that it adopted Decision C(2016)3288 of 15 June 2016 on middle management staff. However, due to the fact that it contains provisions which are not suitable for an Agency with the size of the BEREC Office, the agency requested the EC’s agreement to the non-application of this specific staff implementing rule. The functions of heads of unit and heads of department are hereby defined as middle management functions and are covered by this decision. They shall possess specific management competencies (i.e. work organisation, people management and, where relevant, financial resources management) and an appropriate degree of specialist knowledge and technical expertise. The current Decision will repeal the previous Decision MC (10) 22 by the Management Committee (MC) of the Office of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (the BEREC Office) on middle management staff adopted on 23.12.2010.
